Responsible and committed

The Gilbert group’s corporate social responsibility policy, and that of its brands, is based on long-term commitments and the very highest values set out by our Senior Management. Its aim is to be shared by all stakeholders: employees, partners and customers.

Our 2021-2023 strategy

1,5%

Improving our employees’ well-being

We believe that our teams’ quality of life and well-being in the workplace are amongst our key priorities. To make progress in these areas in general, we will implement initiatives relating to health, safety, employability and training, as well as making improvements on diversity and equality. These initiatives will be evaluated by our employees.

Designing our products in a more responsible way

We consider ourselves to be responsible for the entire life cycle of our products; from extracting the raw materials we need for our formulas, to the type of packaging we use, and right through to the end of life. This is why we are committed to significantly improving their eco-design, recyclability and social impact. We are also committed to providing better information to our customers regarding the origins of our ingredients and recycling methods.

Limiting our environmental impact

To reduce our environmental impact as much as we can, we are committed to reducing our use of natural resources, greenhouse gas emissions and waste products at every stage of the manufacturing process until the end of our products’ life cycle.

More responsible purchasing

To evaluate the impact of our manufacturing and continue reducing our environmental footprint, we will introduce CSR criteria to our supplier selection process from 2021. These criteria are aimed at steering the Group towards responsible purchasing and increasing its regional involvement by favouring local and national suppliers who can also demonstrate a responsible approach.

“Our 2020 approach is structured to continue with the initiatives and commitments set out by the Group over the years. Our aim is to make commitments that are just as strong in terms of our corporate social responsibility (CSR) as our brand social responsibility (BSR). We must all embrace change if we are to achieve our ambitious and realistic objectives.”

Cédric Batteur, CEO.

In 2020, the Group set about defining clearer goals by launching a strategic consultation on social responsibility and conducting a materiality assessment. This enabled it to identify its key objectives as well as the social and environmental impacts of its business activities on its stakeholders: employees, customers, partners and the environment.

12 key objectives were defined as part of its 2021-2023 development plan.
